  • CommVault today announced support for the Microsoft Windows Essential Business Server 2008 and Small Business Server 2008 platforms. These integrated and affordable multi-server solutions combine software for management, messaging, and security and provide small and mid-size customers the essential technology needed for a more secure and reliable infrastructure.
  • Small and mid-size organizations often have sophisticated IT needs but face challenges such as supporting the growth of their businesses, limited IT staff, and the need for advanced protection, compliance, and disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Optimized for Windows Server 2008 environments, CommVault® Simpana® 7.0 software offers a uniquely singular approach to data management, aligning and scaling data protection with the business needs of small and mid-sized enterprises. With expanded support for Windows Essential Business Server and Small Business Server, CommVault now provides customers greater flexibility and choice for deploying 64-bit applications powered by Windows Server 2008 technology.
  • Simpana 7.0 software makes it easy for customers to deploy backup, replication, archive, resource management, or search software across Windows Essential Business Server and Small Business Server applications or file system data. This includes Exchange Server 2007, Microsoft Office SharePoint Server, SQL Server 2005, Active Directory, Windows Vista, Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005, and solutions such as Microsoft Dynamics powered by SQL Server 2005.
  • Available immediately, Simpana software will allow organizations to set, manage, and execute data management policies across heterogeneous environments from a single console for maximum administrative efficiency and cost savings. CommVault Simpana software offers a wide range of integrated backup, archive, and content search features for Windows Essential Business Server and Small Business Server environments including:
    • eDiscovery – enabling a company to retain and access archive email messages, files, documents, and backup data to help meet today's internal audit, records retention, and compliance requirements.
    • Migration tools – enabling the migration and management of Exchange, SharePoint and file system data residing on older versions of Windows to versions on Windows Server 2008 to assist and accelerate upgrades.
    • Meeting corporate, HR, and regulatory compliance requirements through a rich set of content filtering, auditing, and review capabilities for regulated and non-regulated industries.
    • Archival and storage – expanding companies' abilities to securely capture, audit, and archive email, collaboration, file system, and NAS data.
