OCEANPORT, N.J. — June 27, 2001 — CommVault Systems Inc, today announced the availability of the CommVault® Galaxy™ data and storage management software solution for EMC® (NYSE: EMC) CLARiiON® Network Attached Storage (NAS) systems. The qualification of CommVault Galaxy software with EMC CLARiiON® IP4700 networked storage systems offers customers a pre-tested, easy-to-use, data protection solution that scales to handle multiple terabytes of capacity, delivering lower administration cost, significantly better access to application data and drastically improved backup and recovery flexibility. Based on the industry-standard Network Data Management Protocol (NDMP), CommVault Galaxy offers customers a single solution for managing Microsoft® Windows® and UNIX® backup and recovery from an intuitive browser-based interface.
CommVault Galaxy software provides customers with fast, reliable protection of heterogeneous data residing on EMC CLARiiON IP4700 networked storage systems. The CommVault Galaxy solution also delivers enhanced media management that allows customers to better leverage their investment by configuring libraries to be shared between EMC CLARiiON IP4700s and other servers.

From Galaxy's Java-based unified console, administrators can simultaneously set storage policies, monitor events, and seamlessly enhance the availability of critical business information on EMC CLARiiON IP4700s, without the need for separate 'bolt-on' options or the need to tab between screens or interfaces. As a result, the blend of EMC CLARiiON IP4700 storage system and the CommVault Galaxy solution is much easier to use, requires less training, offers better performance and improves application data availability.
