By winning the prestigious XCellence Awards, CommVault continues to demonstrate its commitment to understanding the unique needs of the midsize enterprise IT market. According to Robert C. CommVault’s Simpana 9 software has been named the winner of the Deduplication Product of the Year in Storage Magazine’s 2011 Storage Awards (Storries VIII). The Storage Awards recognize outstanding products, services and people as judged by Storage Magazine readers. This year’s awards saw a record-breaking 6,500 readers vote and over 32,000 votes cast. CommVault Simpana 9 was recognized for its ability to “write backup and archive data to cloud storage in a deduplication format, which reduces the cost of storing data in the cloud.”

CommVault Simpana software has been awarded the Editor's Best Backup Software Product Silver Award by Windows IT Pro for 2011. The Editors' Best awards are given to products that Windows IT Pro and SQL Server Magazine editors believe are the best of breed products in their respective categories. Products and services are evaluated on the basis of three main criteria: strategic importance to the market, competitive advantages, and value to the customer.
This is the second Windows IT Pro Award CommVault has won in 2011, also having received the Microsoft Best of Tech•Ed 2011 award for Backup and Recovery from the editors of Windows IT Pro, SQL Server Magazine, DevProConnections Magazine, and SharePoint Pro.

The judging panel – consisting of Windows IT Pro, SQL Server Magazine, DevProConnections Magazine, and SharePoint Pro editors – narrowed an impressive field of more than 300 submissions down to 46 finalists in 16 categories. The criteria for the judging process were strategic importance, competitive advantage, and value to customers.

CommVault has earned Storage Magazine/SearchStorage.com's 2010 Quality Award for enterprise-class backup and recovery software for the fourth time running. The Storage magazine/SearchStorage.com Quality Awards are designed to identify and recognize products that have proven their quality and reliability in actual use. The results are derived from a survey of qualified readers who assess products in five main categories: sales-force competence, initial product quality, product features, product reliability and technical support.
CommVault's Simpana software was awarded the Storage Magazine Product of the Year for 2009 in the backup and disaster recovery software and services category, as judged by a panel of users, industry analysts, consultants, as well as the Storage magazine-SearchStorage.com editorial staff. According to the judges, Simpana software stood out for its functionality, value, performance, innovation, ease of use and integration.
