CommVault has announced the launch of Virtual Infrastructure Reference Architecture Leaders (VIRAL), a new channel enablement program which introduces an easily scalable converged virtual infrastructure reference architecture with integrated backup, recovery and archive.
"It is not quite virtualization in a box, but a virtualization integrated solution that is very simple, predictable and easy for the reseller or customer to deploy," said Phil Curran, Senior Product Marketing Manager at CommVault.
The first available reference architectures is for Dell, and is based on VMware, Dell hardware and CommVault Simpana 9 software modules for Backup and Recovery and Archive. It is designed to allow users to complete deployment and seamlessly integrate protection of a large, scalable virtual infrastructure in a matter of hours instead of days. Once the initial deployment is complete, Simpana software then can be used to manage, protect and report on the virtual environment.
