Businesses will only see an improvement in data management processes through radical change, it has been claimed.
Steve Bailey, regional operations director at CommVault Systems, writing for Bi-me.com, explained that implementing new data management systems which are fundamentally the same as previous processes with a few improvements is only likely to swap one set of problems for another.
"You could propose that this is an argument against doing anything, but of course it isn't," he explained.
"Transformational changes ... cost money but they save much more in terms of utilisation or even provide possibilities that were just not open before."
