CommVault, a backup software provider, has formed the PartnerAdvantage Service Provider Program for its North American service provider, system integrator and hosting partners. The goal is to help partners deliver cloud services like data protection and archiving. The PartnerAdvantage Service Provider Program includes tools, marketing and training support for partners. We're intrigued but the online backup and cloud backup market is pretty darn crowded. Here's a closer look at CommVault's strategy.
The PartnerAdvantage Service Provider Program is centered around CommVault Simpana 9 the company's flagship platform for managed backup and archiving, managed email for eDiscovery and compliance, disaster recovery and business continuity.
According to CommVault, North American partners can also leverage VMware Cloud Director, which is already integrated into the backup platform. The platform can be purchased on a pay-as-you-grow subscription model designed for MSPs, hosting providers and cloud services providers. The PartnerAdvantage Service Provider Program is designed for partners serving enterprise and SMB end-users.
