This week's storage briefs:
CommVault Systems Inc. and Informatica Corp. are teaming up on an integrated solution that lets CommVault Simpana customers use Informatica's Data Archive to archive large databases from mission-critical applications such as CRM and ERP systems.
The combined products allow organizations to move data from their legacy applications into a data-retention repository, where they can index the data for ediscovery purposes, authenticate it for legal defensibility and deduplicate it. The goal is to help reduce the size of large databases.
