NetApp Insight in High Demand in Macau

CommVault is a committed, global partner and has been a gold-level sponsor of the NetApp Insight event series for the last two years, where I personally have had the chance to participate in the U.S. and APAC. I have just returned from the 2012 APAC instalment in Macau and can confidently report that the interest, level of participation and the quality of demonstrations and presentations goes from strength to strength. Hundreds of attendees converged at the Grand Hyatt in Macau this year making it the best- attended APAC version of the show, providing lively conversation and a deeper level of insight into the technical differentials and associated selling strategies of the solutions available.

Conversations were obviously focused on the challenge of managing Big Data growth in the enterprise market across the region, and facilitating the transfer to virtualized environments through modern data management approaches. Around the CommVault booth, many people we spoke to were not only surprised about the possibility of a 98% backup window reduction that our Simpana SnapProtect^TM technology enables but were also keen to learn more about the acceleration of disk-to-disk backup that it delivered.

All of this led to an incredible turnout at Simon Tippett's presentation on CommVault Simpana software's integration with NetApp Snapshot technology, with show attendees turning out to hear the critical importance of data protection and how to protect hundreds of VMs in minutes.

Overall, the show was a resounding success not only from the perspective of learning from our partners and distributors the key challenges they face in their different markets, but also the educational training the CommVault team received. In fact, apart from the terrible weather on the last day, it was perfect! I look forward to returning next year for an even bigger and better show.
